Spinetastic

Toothless terriers
gnawing vertebrae.
Mad midget plumbers
dragging draining rods,
back and forth,
inside my spine.
Invisible psychotic
drunken
taser totting cops
menacing myalgic muscles.
Spastic one-armed cellists
bang-bow my backbone,
twanging tuning forks
zinging ringing
on off
my skull.
Then
some
sadist
connects
the rods
to the mains

METRIC - Developing resources for the diagnosis and management of chronic fatigue syndrome/ME in primary care

Abstract https://www.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/research/projectdetails/?ID=3117

This project builds on our previous work - the MRC funded FINE Trail. Working together with patient members of the research team and in consultation with patient support groups, we adapted materials developed during the course of the FINE Trial, also taking account of findings from our qualitative research and our experiences of delivering PR in primary care. Educational materials for HPs, primary care HCPs, patients and carers were developed and distributed to 400 GP practices in 18 primary care trusts. Our e-learning module for GPs is now hosted by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) website (from April 2013-March 2016). The module is available free of charge to anyone who registers to use it.
